Strategic Plan
Strategic Plan for ICT Integration into the Primary classroom.
|
The integration of ICT
in Primary classrooms encourages teachers to use many different types of
technologies to improve and facilitate student learning. Research shows
that students are better able to retain and absorb new knowledge when
they are actively involved in the process (Youngblut, 1998).
Learning-by-doing and the student-centered/constructivism approach is one of the enormous
benefits of integrating ICT into the classroom. ICT is also an ever-changing
subject and medium in education, and schools are at the forefront.
Importantly, the effective use of ICT and emerging technologies boils
down to teacher’s choices in the classroom and effective use of this
tool in achieving learning goals (Harrison 2012, p 233).
Therefore the strategic plan is to effectively implement and integrate ICT teaching strategies in all Curriculum areas, including the lesson plan set out on this website, that is explicitly linked to Geography outcomes.
